Rick, your amazing. Just when I got off the fence you come up with this information relating to your claim. I'll guess I once again will become a fence sitter.
Vincon, where there is one, there is very likely to be others. Since Rick reportedly shot 1 and not a family of them, there must be others somewhere close by.... Perhaps in a 25 mile radius?
My point is that it is not anywhere close to "almost certain" Rick shot the only one. If you believe he did, then you ARE (not almost) certainly an idiot!
That is not necessarily true and cannot be proven. I highly doubt as the area is just too built up now. Prove me wrong and produce recent sighting reports.
Like I said before, I am from the region and would like you to show me or at least direct me to the place I am most likely to encounter the rest of the family.
I think it is possible he shot the only one in that particular area. Apparently the acres are essentially 'land locked' in the sense that there is development completely around the place. I pulled up a satellite image of the location and it seemed big enough to support a large omnivore mammal, but probably not more than one. If Sasquatch exist (and I'm a believer) then these creatures are obviously very good at being elusive. If he somehow became 'trapped' in this location, it may have been very un-Sasquatch behavior to venture across developed areas to find wider wilderness.
In my opinion, Dyer was very cunning in seeking his prize here, rather than out in the endless acres of wooded wilderness. Very cunning! I have listened to one of the 911 calls from a homeless couple camped in the area, and there is no doubt they were being genuine. It was incredibly brilliant to go there. No doubt such a small area may create real problems for such a creature, endlessly encroached upon by nearby human activity. It may have created a pair of conditions that, working together, would make the place perfect for Rick Dyer's hunt.... #1) The creature may have found it easier to raid human food supplies from the numerous homeless campers in the area, having difficulty foraging enough food to sustain itself in such tight confines. And... #2) It would have grown more used to human presence, letting down (ever so slightly) its guard and venturing closer and closer when valuable food like meat was on the offering.
