You've probably seen this grainy video from 1967, which allegedly shows Bigfoot, but new so-called evidence released Tuesday shows even more detailed video.

"We want people to understand this is a serious study," said Dr. Melba Ketchum, a genetics scientist who helped lead the Sasquatch Genome Project.

This project was conducted over five years at a cost of more than a half million dollars. The funding was provided by businessman Adrian Erickson. 

"People have chosen not to believe it they can't find it in their minds to think these things exist," said Erickson at a press conference in Dallas. 

The HD images are compelling, but the group says the strongest evidence is from the DNA it collected. The DNA samples were sent to labs at New York University, UT Southwestern and the North Louisiana Crime lab. Some results came back human. Others did not.

"This creature does not follow general rule. What it does do is very different. We think it is human hybrid. That is our theory," said Ketchum.

Valley Bigfoot researcher Alex Hearn has carefully followed this study, and said he's pleased by the release.

"I like to call myself a cryptozoologist. The DNA study reinforces the video. The video reinforces  the samples that are in the study," said Hearn.

"I don't try to change their mind with speech. I try to get as much data as I can like this and pound people with the data that we have," he continued.
